The Collingswood Democratic Committee is a local political organization affiliated with the Democratic Party that operates at the borough level. Its primary purpose is to support and promote Democratic candidates, policies, and voter engagement within the municipality. We are elected by the democrats in the borough to represent their views and thoughts to the county and state level politicians.
Key Functions:
Candidate Recruitment & Support – Identifies, endorses, and assists Democratic candidates running for local offices such as mayor, council, and school board.
Voter Registration & Turnout – Conducts voter registration drives, educates voters on election processes, and encourages voter participation.
Fundraising & Campaign Support – Raises money for candidates and organizes campaign events, door-to-door canvassing, and phone banking.
Policy Advocacy – Promotes Democratic values and initiatives within the municipality, influencing local policy and government actions.
Party Representation & Organization – Serves as the grassroots extension of the county, state, and national Democratic Party, ensuring local interests are represented.
Election Integrity & Oversight – Helps monitor elections, and address voter suppression concerns.

County Committee is a party position, not a government position. Therefore, we do not set policies in government at any level. Our role is to work with elected officials to represent the views of Collingswood residents, build and connect with coalitions around issues, and support candidates in the Democratic Party who reflect those views.
