Michele Coulombe
Michele Coulombe has called Collingswood home for over 20 years. She was drawn to the town for its sense of community, walkable neighborhoods, and vibrant arts and culture scene —and it’s where she’s raised her family and built lasting friendships. Michele loves being part of a town where neighbors look out for one another and where there’s a shared commitment to making Collingswood an inclusive and welcoming place to live.
With over 30 years of experience in education, Michele has dedicated her career to supporting young children, families, and teachers. She has worked as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, curriculum developer, and professor, always with a focus on equity, inclusion, and helping every child succeed. Currently, Michele is a Clinical Specialist at The College of New Jersey, where she teaches future educators and supervises student teachers. She also works as a consultant for several educational organizations, developing early childhood and literacy curricula that are used by schools and teachers across the country.
Michele’s background in political science from Columbia University and her experience as an educator have shaped her belief in the power of public service and community involvement. She is passionate about ensuring that every child has access to high-quality public education and supports policies that invest in schools, empower teachers, and engage families. Michele has volunteered in the Collingswood schools, in the Collingswood library, and around town for various causes. She is proud to be part of a team that works together to make Collingswood an even better place to live.
She believes that thoughtful leadership, transparency, and collaboration are key to building a strong and connected community. Michele is excited to continue working alongside her neighbors to support Collingswood’s schools, celebrate its diversity, and keep the town thriving for future generations.
